WHY WE ARE DOING WHAT WE ARE DOING…

As a supplier and manufacturer to the medical industry and being at the forefront of many Covid-19 initiatives,  I can speak of many others who are in the same situation……The last five months were the pressure test on our healthcare system and with any pressure test this will highlight the weakest point and also show its strength.

From stocking up on PPE, procuring medical equipment and getting facilities upgraded, to building new ones and getting staff ready, the industry was challenged as never before.

No doubt, there were some failures, starting off with the delays of the Covid-19 test results, tests going missing, the PPE tender fraud and the BBC news report on the Livingstone Hospital, calling it the “Hospital of Horrors,” to name but a few.

But there were also so many good stories, such as private and public hospitals joining hands in response to the pandemic, or where VWSA provided a 3300-bed overflow facility to the EC DOH in record time, or other private initiatives providing funding for Covid-19 facilities and it is these stories that keep us going.

So if you have to ask me why are we doing what we are doing, it’s quite simple…There is no greater feeling than being part of a team which is providing solutions that are helping others!
