26 May HEARTBEAT: INSTALLATION CHARLOTTE MAXEKE JOHANNESBURG ACADEMIC HOSPITAL
Government facility Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital is located in Gauteng and has more than 1 000 beds available to service the surrounding communities.
With the need for more Isolation and ICU ward areas required as the hospital readies itself for the expected increase of Covid-19 patients, Ward 567 was identified to be upgraded. Sponsored by Rand Merchant Bank, the upgrade of the area included electrical, gas as well as soft works.
Hutz Hospi-Tec oversaw the entire project, from the initial repainting of walls to the upgrading of the electrical system in the ward as well as the supply of additional gas points. The area also underwent a deep clean. Hutz Medical supplied an HU-Covid19-T ICU mobile trolley and HU-Covid19-S sterile PVC screen for each bed.
“Phase 1 of the project has been completed on schedule and we will be starting Phase 2, the soft upgrade, later this week. The duration and completion of Phase 2 will approximately be 10 days from date of order received. It has been a pleasure working with a committed team to ensure the smooth running of this project,” commented Derick Smit, Project Manager: Hutz Hospi-Tec.
