ESSENTIAL SERVICES: HUTZ GROUP REMAINS OPEN

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the Coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic. Our own president Cyril Ramaphosa calls it a medical emergency far greater than we have experienced in over a century and has called for the lock down of South Africa for a period of 21-days.

As much as we are trying to reduce the impact that this virus will have on our South African healthcare system and economy, we can only hope that as a country, we are adequately prepared for it.  As such, Hutz Lighting Technique 1986 (Pty) Ltd, trading as Hutz Medical, and its associated companies (Hutz Hospitec (Pty) Ltd and Hutz Engineering (Pty) Ltd) as manufacturers of medical devices and equipment, have been deemed essential service companies in terms of the regulations published under the Disaster Management Act, 2002. We will remain open during the national lockdown from midnight on 26th March until midnight on 16th April 2020 in order to service the healthcare industry at this critical time.

We have received authorisation from the Commissioner of the Companies & Intellectual Property Commission to operate and will continue to manufacture and supply medical devices in support of the national fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Our employees, along with our suppliers, will continue to work actively over this time period to assist the medical industry where we can.

Should there be any change to the above, we will inform the relevant stakeholders.
