26 May HEARTBEAT: INSTALLATION GREENACRES HOSPITAL
Part of the Netcare group, Greenacres Hospital is a 340-bed private hospital located in Port Elizabeth and services the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropole.
The hospital recently upgraded an existing general ward into an isolation one, utilising the HU-Covid19-S sterile PVC screens. This has resulted in additional treatment areas for Covid-19 patients.
In addition, the hospital converted a High Care Ward into an ICU Ward, by means of a floor-mounted extension box with equipment pole, for the mounting of IV stacks and drip bag holders. Hutz Medical also assisted with the provision of additional gas points for the newly created ICU.
“We had a challenge and engaged with Hutz who had the solution. Their solution, combined with a quick turnaround time on manufacture saw us being able to create a partially isolated ward within less than a week. Hutz’s Installation Department were onsite and managed to install and overcome some installation challenges quickly and efficiently. The installation was completed in a professional manner and the new screens have allowed us to be able to consult various patients within an isolation environment,” Jeffrey Fry, Technical Service Manager: Netcare Greenacres Hospital.
